Post subject:  Two new additions to our Seagate helium HDD tool lineup

We’re introducing two new additions to our helium HDD tool lineup, designed for Seagate helium-filled hard drives with 10 platters:

HDDS Sea 3.5" Helium P10 Ramp Set Type I
and
HDDS Sea 3.5" Helium P10 Ramp Set Type II
(each set is a pair of HddSurgery head replacement tools)

Seagate 3,5" helium hard drives with 10 platters come in two different HSA design variants, so selecting the correct tool depends on the hole configuration.

To identify the right one, open the drive and inspect the HSA:
– If there are holes for both the tool shaft and securing pin → use Type I (e.g. ST18000NE000)
– If only the tool shaft hole is present → use Type II (e.g. ST16000DM001)

To see our new tools in action, check out the video guide:

(The operating principle of both tool types is similar, with the Type I tool additionally using a securing pin)

Now available in our online shop.
