CE Pads And Memory Config Selection

April 23rd, 2020, 12:43

Hello,
I was Watching Erkins Youtube Video -> https://youtu.be/6wRxM5_JYEA .In This Two Different Pads Are Connected To CE0 and then in the end when he pressed the read id button and went to select memory config ,He selected the middle one and not the first and end one ,how does one come to know about planes ,crystals in this kinda situation ?

I wont be the bottom one "MicroSD" because you can see when ID is checked there is more than one crystal, and MicroSD config is only one. I am not sure what the top one is. The joining of the CE1 could be like the "Join CE" option in FE' NAND Reader. At a guess I would say this comes from experience. Maybe previous recoveries wired the normal way only showed 2 crystals, and experimentation found this current method.

Might be that this is just wrong soldering. There's no info that it worked and the data was recovered. As we can se in 1:05 it's 13x3 pinout with 4 more pins used(my guess would be VCC,VSS, CE2,CE3). If you have time, check where does the additional cable come from. Also you can check if VNR would detect ID if you connect two CE together.
Best way would be to ask the owner of this video or get a similar card and check it.

We usually deal with a part of SanDisk like this
