How long is synthesis supposed to take?

I have a case with SM2231T-AD / 2x 29F16G08CBACA (4GB IDE-SSD) that uses synthesis from partial solution. It's been chugging since 17:00 yesterday (time is now 08:48) and it's not even halfway done

It depends from many factors. It can even take seconds if you prepare it properly.

Hello,
with the latest update XOR synthesis process goes really fast.
Your controller seems to be really rare, I couldn't any info or solutions for it. But taking into account capacity I guess it might not use XOR at all. Please check it's bitmap and search for patterns. If you will find some patterns, then try to run Data transformation analysis that will search for Inversion.
Also you can crate a ticket and our engineers will help you with this case.
