The first automatic voltage adaption PC-USB-TERMINAL Adapter

February 1st, 2019, 3:44

MRT new PC-USB-TERMINAL adapter features:

1.Compatible with commonly used features supported by old terminal
2.Add Seagate hard drive 3M and 6M baud rate support
3.Hard disk adaptive voltage support (1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V)
4.The pins specialized for different working voltages have been placed on the adapter ,by which manual switch between different working voltages is realized

For more details, please refer to http://en.mrtlab.com/mrt-new-pc-usb-ter ... troduction

The demonstration of our new adapter is shown as below.

For anyone who is happy to do the experiment for this PC-USB-terminal adapter can follow the instruction in the video to find out the prodigious performances of this adapter which is capable of achieving authentic automatic detecting and setting voltage, a feature which the common terminal adapters in the market often lack of.

Did you test that the driver is able to select different I/O supply voltages? I would think that the software would do this via the bridge IC's GPIO pins. AFAICT, the function of the GPIO pins would be defined by the software or the driver.

What does MRT mean by "automatic detect"? Does the software select an I/O voltage based on the drive's model number or family, or does it actually sense the Tx/Rx voltages at the drive's terminal port? If the user selects the wrong family, does the I/O voltage automatically change to correspond to the selected family?

What is the purpose of the 3.3/2.5/1.8V jumper block? Is this a manual override? If so, then one would expect a related option in the drop-down menu. I don't see such an option in the demo video.
