What's it showing in the terminal when you first try to read a sector? Also, is it staying BSY after you try reading a sector?

I would look first at how many heads the HDD has.
Then make a copy of the system files and if you can read the copy 0 and 1, in principle those heads are fine.
If it does not make you strange noises I would wait before opening the HDD.

If you receive the donor you can try changing the PCB before. It is rare that it is that but it is very easy to do and you discard some other problem.
I suspect that the HDD area is damaged.

It's just an opinion of what I would do. Greetings.

I think heads are OK. Some FW problem.

thanks to all for the answers, according to my client this hdd started to become slow, after a few hours he noticed this problem the hdd was virtually unusable. When I was delivered, I backed up the ROM and the firmware without problems, I then opened DE and saw the partitions but when I tried to read the contents the disk was reading error, so slowly even stopped seeing the partition. If it were a damaged area of the disk during the scan I would notice some green, some yellow and some red, here it's all red, it does not read at all. That's why I thought of the heads, but of course it is my hypothesis and for this reason I asked for your help, it seems a strange case.

I think you have a case very similar to the one I opened. I did not have access to the user area either.
You can see the last comment I have made, it may help you.
