No such thing as “unlocked PCB” for Spyglass, it’s just a SATA one from a SATA version. I think mainly they come from WD wireless drives. |

Somehow my brain convinced me this was a Charger. Guess I'll have to buy 800065. Do you recomend a seller in particular? |

Donordrives, hddzone... or freelancers like eric lee or sunny. Be careful if you buy from alibaba etc, you can find good prices but you have no guarantee what you'll get. I got two of these Spyglass SATA PCBs and they both arrived dead. I managed to fix one of them but the other was FUBAR. Donordrives and hddzone will give you moneyback or replacement guarantee in case something goes wrong with the part. |

regarding the whole locking and unlocking mechanism. Has that got something to do with the bootloader of the MCU. Example: STM32 Nucleo boards are supplied with factory bootloader that resides in some offset in the MCU itself considering June 2018RM0385 Rev 81/17241RM0385Reference manual. It would be quite a job to know the MCU chip id, find its memory map and investigate the BL. Also, do you think the unlocked boards are just having a BL patched to bypass security features. As a novice embedded guy,I am just guessing. let me know. -- |
