 Post subject: TOSHIBA DT01ACA050 - Reading is TOO TOO SLOW.

Hello,

Reading is TOO TOO SLOW, in DE it shows directory and files.
While copy it copies too slow.

Virtual Translator, PIO or any other Mode - copying is slow only.

Any solutions or work around ?

Does the drive have reallocated/pending sectors?
You should disable sector reallocation event with ARRE option, but i can't remember if MRT has such option.
Sediv does have it!
If i remember well, mrt does have SUPER OFF option, it might help to speed up cloning process, if all this will not help than most likely your drive had weak heads.

This one is Hitachi arch, not native tosh.

i suspect 2 causes:
- weak / contaminated head(s) (or if these are donor heads, they do not work good with patient adaptives)
- media defects

Scan Root done ( took 1day)
Now coping data ...

Got the same problem.
TOSHIBA DT01ACA100

Reading slow. 100GB for 14 days 5.7kb/s on the Head 0

Well i guess either from Swapping heads. There is no other options to do here :cry: :cry: :cry:
