Whats new in update? Did they add SpyGlass2Ultra finally?

Not yet unfortunately.....The last version is 2172 which corrected some bugs in DE and WD utilities.

There was the first 2171 version that was working without asking for programmer, after few days they released another 2171 version (minor update to WD utility,in fact that was the time when the unlock process started to ask for programmer even you want to unlock from file) and the 2172 version that corrected some bugs. If you have the first 2171 version you can still unlock from file without programmer.

Western Digital module, upgrade to 2.3.8.0:

1. Added family ApolloCR- 810011, Tresul- 800068

2. Added firmware unlock support for board numbers 800022/800041/810012 and 810035

3. Added permanent unlocking of 800xx series (unlocking needs to be used with the new programmer 3.0), removed the terminal handshake process, and supports unlocking by USB board number. The supported board numbers are as follows:
800022/800041/810012, 800065/800067/810003, 800066/800069, 800077, 810011, 810035

4. Added the "Firmware Unlock" button on the family panel and removed the "Unlock Handshake" button

5. Added T2 editor support for 810035, support uploading 190 to hard disk memory

Seagate module, upgrade to 2.0.8.1:

1. Added family panel CF family (Note: reading and writing ROM needs to unsolder the ROM chip, which is caused by the firmware download lock)

2. Added M15_Janus-CF family firmware unlock (ST4000LM024-2U8, ST5000LM000-2U8)

3. Added M15_Janus-CF family virtual boot (ST4000LM024-2U8, ST5000LM000-2U8)

11. Optimize the main interface to display the COM connection port number directly

12. Fixed the error that some families reported 0xC00000005 during ROM parsing

13. Repair the module list edit box ID does not follow the module selected by the cursor to update

14. Repair some LM disks to output MCMT analysis results. After the progress reaches 99%, the MRT crashes.


DE module, upgrade to 6.0.0.2:

1. Added Data Explorer support for USB device splitting (800xx series may need to unlock firmware, splitting requires modules 183 and 190)

2. Added Data Explorer factory program to read support for USB devices (800xx series may need to unlock the firmware)

3. Added 3 copy types and color marks: Seagate data 241A, sEDU sector, data all 0 sectors (for the loss of memory 190, some mirror data is 00)

4. Added task statistics. Added sector bitmap statistics and clearing options for the above-added copy types.
5. Added stream scan format: CHM, Z7, WMF, ANI, MID, OGG

5. Optimize the "read successful" green sector type to "read normal and non-0" sector

6. Optimize and greatly improve the speed of marking valid data

7. Optimize the function of saving files and fix the problem of failure to save very small files

8. Optimize the compressed bitmap mapping algorithm and fix the crash when the compressed data is abnormal

Finally, the english ver 2181 is out. It looks like the "usb splitting" was referring to head map in DE. Now it's clear.

I sense that their low cost approach translates to having limited staffing. Having some good beta testers would help, but sometimes companies get beta testers setup who provide absolutely no feedback and are just looking for a free product update.

Yes, Luke, I understand that. In the mean time they released a new version with correct english menus. But that was a obvious error that can be spotted very easy. If they can't see such error , what can we expect about many bugs in the program functionality?

For me, for example, the Seagate utility shuts down suddenly when parsing MCMT extends...A thing they claim they corrected in 2182 and 2181 version....I am on 2182 and the utility still shuts itself down.

I really don't understand how they test their software......

1. Added new feature to disable and enable module 183 in ROM tools
2. Added a log to notify the status of module 183
3. Fixed the problem about failure to unlock PCB 810035. For version 2173 we need to choose 800022 to unlock 810035
4. Fixed the size error of the modules saved during resources backup
5. Optimized the dump T2 function without rebuilding T2 to mitigate unstable reading issue that occurred during data copy (Usually appeared when there are miss-aligned entries in module 190)
6. Optimized the search function of internal modules
