Hi, I have a fairly new WD drive which seems to have a locked firmware. PCB version is 004-0836131. Is there a way to unlock this firmware? MRT does not support this version. Thank you. |

This drive is not WD ROYL but HGST CCB architecture. |

The PCB is 0B36131. WD PCBs begin with "2060-". HGST PCBs begin with "0A" or "0B". WD's warranty checker ... https://support-en.wd.com/app/warrantystatusweb ... identifies the drive as ...
WDVL6 7200 256M SATA3 6GB/S 4.0 TB 6HD STD HGST I think the family could be Vela (Vela-6 ?). Thank you all, Ive done some research and cant find a way to unlock this drive. we have confirmation it's locked. any ideas will be appreciated. |
