I never face this problem before. Hdd is able to unlock. No clicking, spindle spin up as normal.
What is the problem? Your help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, it's keep error SIM FileFD=xxxxx roll over again and again, no chance go into prompt F3 T> .
Trying to unlock, unlock is successful but problem remain.
Last step I will looking for for hdd donor, but for ST2000LM009-1R9174, is difficult to find.

According to MRT online services, recommend to erase sys 348.
then how to erase while terminal keep busy with error SIM FileFD=xxxxxxxxxx

sounds like a stupid advice, how would that solve the head issue???

But during initialize having error:

That is mrt bug that i had identified some time ago, but which the mrt staff never considered because i was not believed.
Issue is that utility is not able to access correctly to SYS files after rom unlock.

There is a trick...
1) Once you see the serial port error as you've posted, start "F3 SYS file backup"(you will get a lot of errors so sys will not be backed-up).
2) Wait few seconds (about 4/5 seconds) that log scrolls with all those sys files error as red scripts (don't need to wait it finish), now stop sys backup manually.
3) Press on all "Refresh" buttons.
4) Press "Re-Identify device".
5) Press "Reload".


Now it will access SA correctly and you'll be able to backup SYS and modules.

I following your suggestion, all is works till I press RELOAD... hdd become BUSY.
In this point Re-ID or RELOAD will gave error and terminal also become no access.
NORMAL mode, terminal mode same error.
Any step that I miss ?

Untick last 2 options:
"Read by serial port"
"When failed to get system file list"

if this doesn't help, you should use "busy patch" when uploading 3D loader

Hdd become busy, last chance I will run virtual boot, but ST2000LM009-1R9174, f/w SED1 , I don't have 3D mod. Looking for entire Google nobody have it.
If anybody have it I am appreciated for share.

if you can access to sys files in serial mode, you will get 3D mod from this:
FC01020D
FC01120E
try by ticking one of the two option on bottom or both


3D loader sys file always ends with 20D or 20E

if you can't get them, ask in the forum for virtual ldr file of this drive.

Finally can go to system file list, used 3D loader from donor.

But no any sys module file can be opened, it is error. Read by ATA, ABA or terminal port is same error and BSY.
Any time , any function on MRT selected, SIM error on terminal will occurred.
This SIM error repeat and only can be terminate by select Terminal Mode button

I need to save 1B, 28, and 35 before clear G-List and format/recalculate translator.

Any other way?

Sorry, if all this didn't work for you then i don't know how to help you.
Try to press first "reload" and then "Re-identify device".

Also, problem it could be that your 3D ldr donor version doesn't match with patient rom date version.
Last year i made a video on youtube about BSY error after 3D loader on a Rosewood ST2000LM007 and how to solve it by using proper donor 3D ldr with matched date.

Thanks for support anyway, I am just unlucky on MRT advise before, on mentioned above this chat thread you can find that MRT suggestion is impossible to proceed.

I think SIM error bring along complicated problem for all steps.

Regarding 3D loader, I already requested to https://firmware.hddsurgery.com , they replied that they do not have ST2000LM009-1R9174 SED1 f/w on they own data base.

On Skype MRT User forum someone gave me a 3D loader, but look likes not match.

I will try some way, it may close this hdd problem. Hope can solve the problem and update here.
