Hi,

I got WD10SPZX-75Z10T2, 1Tb. Busy, ready, spin down, this kind of problem usually head issue.
But after head replacement from good working donor ( follow all those donor criteria), problem is remain. Lock or unlock, problem remain same :
- Spindle up then down
- No access to SA

Any body knows, what is the problem?

Remount original heads!!

SMR drives can spin down if mod 190 is corrupted.
Enter in the utility in kernel mode, backup rom then disable mod 411 on rom, repower the drive and check if still spins down, if still spins go in normal mode and backup all modules (tick skip mod 190). Backup 190 and 183 manually (double click on each one) in module list, then follow the procedure to repair T2 translator from mod 190 and load it on ram.

In Kernel mode ; disable mod 411.
Repower, spin down occurred. unable to carry on.

411 disable, keep spin down

really don't know then, sorry.
Maybe original heads got bad?
Does something change if disable mod 183 ?
