Do you suggest connecting a SAS drive to a SATA controller? Looks like you've invented a new specification... Try contacting the MRT lab for support. It will be very interested to know their answer.
If you don't make idiotic suggestions, then some WD drives with a SAS interface can be restored using T-REX and a compatible SATA PCB. I practically did not do this, I only heard about successful experiences. I can only note that after such a repairing the disks will only work with a SATA PCB.

Here is an interesting thread where someone used a SATA PCB to access a SAS drive:

I suspect that the drive in that thread began life as a 2TB, 6 head, SATA model, and was subsequently recertified as a 3 head SAS model.

My theory:

The recertified SAS drive has a head map of 0b0000111000, but originally it was a SATA drive with a head map of 0b0000111111. This means that the patient drive originally had an SA on physical heads 0 and 1. Those are the heads that are being dumped by the 2TB SATA donor after a hotswap. The invisible SAS firmware modules are in the SAS SA on physical heads 3 and 4.

Does this make sense?

Show us a clear hi-res photo of the PCB so that we can identify the ICs. Also, please dump the ROM. We will need the adaptives.

I'm wondering if 2060-771642 would be compatible:

It has a SMOOTH L7251 3.1 motor controller. The HDA pinout looks similar, but we would need to verify the supply pins for the preamp.

For what purposes do you need a ROM? What are you going to do with adaptives? Do you know how to convert the service area from Arch7 to traditional ROYL? All you need is a HDA from Arch7, a compatible SATA-ROYL PCB, a compatible “packet” and a working T-REX shell. I've heard that an important criterion for compatibility is the wedge/track ratio.

In that other thread I was able to find adaptives in the SAS ROM. I was hoping to import those SAS adaptives into a SATA ROM, and then use a SATA PCB and loader to gain access to the SAS SA and dump the tracks.

I don't know how the terminal works on SAS PCBs, but if it works the same way as SATA, then choose a 2TB Green SATA family (if necessary) and dump the ROM via the terminal port using your terminal adaptor.
