More specifically regarding PCB/HDD sales fraud. With users taking advantage of the other peoples situation where people they vulnerable seeking a solution for data recovery.

User such as...

- People who have registered here within the past month that claim to be big dealers.
- They claim to have your PCB before even really getting a good look at it.
- They are from out of the country and speak terrible English.
- They won't setup an ebay auction as a safeguard, even if the buyer insists on paying all fees.
- A google search shows that their paypal email address has been used on several other forums with various user names, each with a post count below 5.

Am I just paranoid or are there really legit dealers on this forum?

I dare say any real fraudsters would be rooted out pretty quickly.

I'm sure most of the guys on this forum are legit.

The two guys I'm currently dealing with sound as shady as can be. Rather than making some crook in a mud hut seem as if he has hit the lotto with my $50-100 paypal transfer, I'd rather give my money to some legitimate recovery agency.

there are at least 2 legit members who have parts for sale who can be found in the HARD DRIVES FOR SALE section. Maybe you should give them both a PM with what your looking for.

I probably wouldn't deal with anyone with a post count below 5 either, no, but if everyone I bought or sold parts with insisted on going through ebay I would find that to be kind of a headache.
