Hi everyone this might be off the wall but here goes anyway

I notice that more than 50% of all posts here unasnwered are always for firmware or hard ware donor drives. I see that this is the hardest things for everyone to get and at a good price. You can ask for FW which is done when working on PC3000 and you save you copy of FW when repairing. But donor drives are not so easy to come by and people are not so willing to give up

Why doesn't someone who lives in a good location - no me I am in Tahiti - set up a donor drive and firmware locator for them and offer their services for a price to get what is needed for people to do their work. I am sure with all the companies in Indonesia and China doing drive refurbishment you could find what is needed for people and make a good profit for your services.

Times are tuff and I have read about offering drives here but never see them and starting a place to download FW but there is not a lot offered. You could set up a secton here in the forum and do the work from here.

Just an idea on how to help people find what they are looking for. You just need to get one person to do a little leg work for you and you are in business as a distributor of hardware donor drives location and FW files that people ask for all the time.

Any ideas on all of this? Just a suggestion from all that I have read. I know there is a section to request but a lot of the request are read and never answered. You never know if they are still looking or not for these drives.
