Conner CFA340A in USB Box

In order to read the content,I put an old Conner CFA340A in a working PATA-USB box with external power supply,but the HD is not recognized.I tried all the jumper settings master,slave....,but my PC only notify an USB storage device an nothing more.My OS is XP Pro.Can someone help me? Thanks

the CFA is probably too old for the USB box.. Put it on an older PC and Get yourself a 2.5" adapter :O)

Wow! That is an old hard disk! The explanation is that it does not support LBA translation. You must find a computer that has a BIOS which supports CHS. You must connect the drive directly to one of the PC's IDE ports. Then try to get the BIOS to autodetect the drive. If it shows up, but with "0MB" in capacity, then the BIOS does not support CHS. If that is the case, try to check the settings and see if you can change it to CHS.
