Hard drive does not detect and has disappeared?

October 12th, 2009, 3:28

Running a IC35L036UWD210-0S5BS IBM 36Gb Harddrive under windows. Not to long ago it was erased and Hard Disk Wipe Tool instructed the harddrive be formatted But when windows was restarted the harddrive no longer detected under (My Computer). This aint normal is it? Instructions preparing for this Ultrastar 36Gb for boot winthin "this pc" and any other of mine?

Ps.

CentOs turned me off so the harddrive got erased. A computer tech set up a pc. Didn't let me know it ran Linux and the pc has more memory than my Compaq that currently is online so thats why the harddrive needs to go back in the slot and boot under Windows xp.

Thanks in advance...

If i am right, you was wiped out the MBR from the drive.
You need to repartition it.

N.C. Is right ..

Right click 'My Computer' and select Manage.

Click on hard disks and you should see the drive there.
Initialize it and create a new partition ..
