Friendly suggestion for posters to any DIY/Help forum

December 31st, 2009, 11:16

Please note that I do NOT find this to be a particular problem in this forum!

Whether newbie or hardened criminal, please follow up on posts. There's nothing worse than someone posting a question for help, several solutions good/bad/indifferent are posted, then....

...silence.

It helps everyone who reads a post to know if:

1 - The poster tried one suggestion and it helped/didn't help
2 - The poster tried multiple suggestions and one/all helped/didn't help
3 - The poster tried something and made it better/worse....... ad nauseum....

You get the idea. A punctuation mark always finishes a sentence. Please consider following up, even if you have not come up with ANY solution to your problem. Even a verified lack of a solution is helpful because it seems to entice the over-the-top DIYer/tech to seek out a solution.

Thank you.
