Yah sad things is that I had to buy 3 of them new here last week to repair all the ones that are broken and sitting here now. I would never recommand this drive ever and it is not so fun to have to purchase them just to repair the ones that are broken

I don't mind WD, most of the time their very good performance.


Just make sure you keep a backup, as you should with ANY drive.


the NEW 500GB WD blue drives are good; they are single platter.


otherwise, get the 640GB drives, they are better bargain usually.

I bought Caviar black 500.. dont need too much space

blue is cheaper but 5 years warranty was enough to change my mind
