Firmware edit is it possible?

March 7th, 2012, 21:41

I have seagate ST3750640NS firmware 3.AEK, I need to change following "smart" values in the firmware:

Execute Off-line Immediate,Supported to Not supported
Off-line Read Scanning,Supported to Not supported
Short Self-test,Supported to Not supported
Extended Self-test,Supported to Not supported
Selective Self-Test,Supported to Not supported
Save Data Before/After Power Saving Mode,Supported to Not supported
Enable/Disable Attribute Autosave,Supported to Not supported
Error Logging Capability,Supported to Not supported
Security Frozen,No to Yes

is this possible? Maybe low level command program that can accomplish this?

Certain feature sets can be disabled/enabled using a Device Configuration Overlay (DCO).

See section 7.10.3 of the following document.
