Recovering files from Apple Sparesebundle in Time Machine

June 2nd, 2012, 14:26

Hi guys,
I try to recover deleted backups from an Apple Time Capsule hard drive following TimeMachine processes.
All backups are in the a Sparsebundle file dedicated to one computer. Luckily, I have free access to the .sparsebundle file as FileVault wasn't used.

Customer deleted some Backups manually and discovered later he needed them.

Did anybody face this case ? And actually resolved it ?

I'm thinking of how I could work on recovering the deleted bands of the Sparsebundle but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get them all in mint condition in order to rebuild the Sparsebundle... Any advice or experience to share ?

Thanks,

mK

These are usually tough, recovery is possible but very time consuming and usually costly. Best tip would be to study the fragments of the sparsebundle. Create a similar scenario and data structure, specifically the headers.
