Silly Question about Flash memories

August 21st, 2012, 9:47

Dear Guys,

i got many flash memories from my DR and also bulk dead flashes i bought for testing my SC long time back
for now, i have more than 200+ memory chips which are useless for me after delivering my data to my clients

the question is the following:

is there any way to put them together on some sort of SSD for example?

i bought some BLANK flashes some time ago for soldering flash memory to it, but those are most with SINGLE memory chip on it

any change of having for example 8 or more chips so i can use them again as an SSD or anything??

i feel bad really when i see those in my archived drawers here.

hope someone can give me any idea for them? DIY is fine also with me, since i enjoy it more

thank you

have you gotten anywhere with this? I managed to switch a single chip from a working flash drive as a replacement for a failed OCZ unit to repair it, just as a hobby. It was the same manufacturer chip though..

If you could modify the firmware, you could likely get a half-populated 16 chip board and try and fill in the other 8...
