Wanna meet?

October 17th, 2012, 4:29

I'm visiting London this Easter, and it would be nice if some of the people I like would arrange to have some beer (or cider) :-)

I'm not 100% sure about the dates yet, but 99.9% it would be Friday 3/5 to Monday 6/5.

If someone's interested and dates match, drop me a line

Ta!!

Hi Northwind,

I live about 3 hours from London but count me in.
It would be good to meet up with some members from here.

Hi all,

It is confirmed, dates are Friday 3/5 to Monday 6/5.

My flight back home is early on Monday morning, so I would prefer if we do this on Friday or Saturday night.

I'm delighted to meet you guys :-)

I believe you would found more wishing if you would invite hddguru members into warm Greece :D

Just a reminder, our date is standing strong, Friday 3/5 or Saturday 4/5 (up to you to decide) night for a beer and some fun ;-)

So far, people participating

Loki
pcimage
touchclarity
hddguy
Vulcan
and me (obviously, hehe).

I believe you Brits should suggest a good pub where we could meet. I will be staying downtown, most probably near Oxford st., but I guess I can travel around the city using the Underground.

The exact point of meet will be posted here, in case someone has a desire for a last-minute show-up.
See you soon!

Thanks Artem. Maybe next meeting will be held near you so you can join the company too :D

We have an absence though, Sean won't make it.
Pity.

There is a change in meeting time:

Our meeting will be held at 6.30pm and not 8.00pm.

This is so we have enough time to chat and perhaps someone might have an early curfew (train times etc).

See you there.

Yep, sorry guys.

I'm in Ireland (Dublin) this weekend from Friday to Monday, late anniversary pressie from Mrs K

Maybe we can book our summer holiday in Greece? :-)

Have a nice time in Dublin! :) Shame the timing didn't work out to meet this time - I hope to be at the pub on Saturday evening (trains permitting), so we can drink some proper beer while you're having Guinness! ;) When I last visited Dublin (many years ago), the Guinness there did seem to taste better than over here - or perhaps that was just my imagination

Of course it's better here!! :) Vulcan can sip away at your lousy pint of warm bitter while Sean is having a nice cold brew :)

Sean, get yourself over to the Guinness Storehouse for the tour, well worth a look.

I'm away this weekend, otherwise I'd have shown you around!

Apparently football is in town Saturday ;)

@CK,

Hmm, so it wasn't just my imagination then. ;) I did like the Guinness over there (and the pubs where they take your order at the table - what a great experience). That pub in London has a good reputation for its beers, so I think we'll be OK 8)

@guru,

Was your comment regarding the "London meeting" or to those in Dublin? In London, isn't there always football somewhere in the city? I dunno, I'm a flipping tourist ;) As long as we don't wear football shirts, then hopefully the "natives" will ignore us :)
