Cricket like noise right after one raw read error rate

November 3rd, 2012, 10:37

Hello
I don´t know if this is the right place to post it, but I would like to know your opinion about this.

The drive is a WD Velociraptor 150Gb, and so far, it´s working fine.

But about once or twice a week i get this noise, like a cricket (the bug) when they, you know, do their thing with the legs hehe, the noise duration is about half a second, I try to record it, but since i don´t know when it's gonna happen, it's kind of difficult :)

When this noise occurs, the (01) Raw Read Error Rate increase by one, at this moment is at 16, and it was climbing steadily for the last 4 or 5 months.

should I worry?, or this is normal?, I have other 2 velociraptors same capacity, and none of them do that and (01) Raw Read Error Rate stays at 0

any thoughts?
thank you

No, that shouldn't increase...
Check for bad sectors.
