Searching the forums here I found nothing about this.
I need to install a self-encrypting drive into a machine which does not have a bios setting for HDD password.
Is this immediately and obviously impossible or is there a different way to enable the drive's encryption?
Drive is a Seagate Constellation, and it operates out of the box just as a standard drive with no evidence
of encryption abilities.
Is there software which will allow entry of a password to the drive or is this simply a bios-only
function which absolutely must be used?

You need a SAS HBA which supports SED drives
