There is PC3K PCI and there is PC3K UDMA. Most likely you are looking at PC3K PCI which is a Chinese knock off and is absolute crap.

nah not me mate. i do question the motive behind the post tho.

Starting to look like equipment fanboi posts running amok.

Why pick on Ace? Gear becomes obsolete: it affects everyone.
vis Bandura price drop, Deepspar 3, Acelabs etc.

Ppl are generally happy with the gear but want to upgrade to the company's latest and greatest. The gear has earnt it's keep over and over, and owes the company nothing. Probably better to sell cheap n quick if the gear isn't going to be relegated to some sort of supplementary role operating as an unattended standalone unit for such as blanking drives or full disk imaging.

data compass is worth more then this

Depends how you define "worth".

there is no motive behind the post at all

trying to point out how the secondhand market is cheap.

before you could ask easy around $5,000 for a secondhand unit

im suprise that people are trying to sell them only for $2,000
i think its worth a lot more for sure.

we still own our orginal PC3K PCI which has worked very well.

ah ok, thanks for the explanation.

just your posts always seem to have an anti-Acelabs slant recently.

Seems to me all DR gear seems to go for half price or less, having seen Atola insight posted at around 4k. Maybe these guys are just trying for a quick sale knowing the license issues around it.

Wonder if its the same for Flash-extractor given that the bulk of the prics is for the s/w and its upkeep.

Maybe let us know the reception of you selling the SD's.
Would be interesting to see how it goes, given the feeling for SD gear in forum.

The reason why pc3k secondhands are cheap is that whoever buys it, has no updates and no support. So you're buying a tool that will become obsolete in 2 years or so due to new models coming out every day and techniques etc.
