Asus TF810C Win8

October 29th, 2013, 11:31

I do hope that anyone here on the forum might know a solution for my problem:

Customers system: Asus Tablet PC TF810C (detachable keyboard) with Windows 8
about 600 pictures for a business presentation on the internal SSD - which is
according to Asus soldered (non detachable).

1. Boots into Windows 8 - 1st screen (Seattle with Space Needle) and hangs
... no way to continue
2. CMOS access is possible
3. Win 8 trouble shooting is accessible - but does not accept the known password
... therefore no way to restore system (without deleting customers data)
4. I have baught programs to start from usb or alter password - but flash drives
... are either not recognised or even when they are recognised they where accessed
... a few seconds - and then Windows 8 starts - and hangs
5. No internal CD/DVD drive, an external usb drive is not recognised (CMOS)

Any solution how to access that data ?

Thank you in advance

When you boot from USB:
1- boots OK ( which OS you tried )
2- Size of your USB flash?

For external USB CD, try power OFF then connect it, then Power ON
CMOS sometimes goes stupid

I have tried 3 different USB flash drives:

USB 2.0
1x 4GB
1x 8GB

USB 3.0
1x 8GB

in either FAT32 or NTFS formatting

neither one worked to boot
***
CD rom not detected - makes no difference to turn ASUS off or not

Hi folks, thank you for all the pm and the suggestions.

Yes, I tried all the mentioned ways, which are suggested until this my post
now

I am happy to advise that the problem is solved:

All the internal ASUS / Windows 8 trouble shootings didnt work until I tried
the very last possibility - to reset the system to a previous state - and
surprisingly the system didnt ask for a password to do that.

After that the system started - and I traced that the password was typed
in "blind mode" on a french keyboard - therefore the visible correct password
was incorrect.

Would have been a big loss for my customer - 6 months work with over
600 pictures....

Thank you again
