For you - what were the worst drives of 2013?
Name and shame.
What manufacturer consistency knocked out badly engineered drives in the year
just gone?
And on a brighter note, what drives / manufacturers impressed you in the last year?
All experiences / input welcome.

This year I would have to say Seagate was the winner. Lots of failed PCB issues turned into concentric rings on the drives. I've seen a good deal of fuses blown, and even the TVS chips smoking. For sure, Seagate was the winner just due to media damage.

Don't you mean TVS
diodes? And why do you think that it's Seagate's fault when TVS diodes go short circuit?
How does a PCB failure cause a head crash?
