I'm thinking of an easy way to categorize recoveries. I'm thinking that, if a drive is recognized in BIOS, it's probably an easier one, and if it's not, it's harder. Would you guys agree? If not, is there a better way to easily (As in, the customer can determine it) classify recoveries?

Well, as a rule, yes. An ID'd drive is usually easier.
But there are exceptions, as there are to any rule.
Toshiba notebook drives for example. Sometimes they will ID perfectly but not read beyond a few thousand sectors because one of the heads is knackered.
And Maxtor drives, suffering from platter degradation.
Any Seagate 7200.7 etc, suffering from dirty platters/heads.
But any decent DR company will offer a free diagnosis. (Like me!)
IMHO of course.
