RAID on two different drives

July 12th, 2008, 12:41

Hello,

It is a weird question i think, but i think i should ask it :). Can i run RAID on two different drives ? I have one WD Caveir 60GB and a 160GB Seagate SATA. I know they are totally different in specs as well as capacity but i just want to test RAID and its benefits.

Thanks.

What benefits are you looking for?

Hi,

Yes, you can build a 60GB RAID1, a 120GB RAID0, and 220GB LINEAR RAID and 120GB faulty RAID5 from this 2 drive.
On linux of course.... :D

Janos
