Better/Stronger IDE cable connectors?

July 22nd, 2008, 16:30

Even though I seldom replace/install drives I have damaged my
share of IDE cables. When a cable is inserted into a drive or
mainboard connector sometimes there isn't enough of it exposed
to grab it with my fingers. I forget how weak they are and I wind
up pulling on the cable instead it just comes off the connector.

For those of you that do this every day - what's the trick?

What about your text/diagnostic hardware -- does it come
with more sturdy and better designed cable connectors?

i found out that since i switch over to round ide ribbon cable
they work great for data recovery

i dont have any problem anymore

its worth getting these cable they might be a little bit expensive around $15
but they work great and last a longtime
