SEGATE WILL NOT ACEPT FORMAT

HELP WITH SEAGATE BERACUDA 40 GB.MODEL ST340014A FIRMWARE VER.03507 CAN NOT FORMAT I HAV TRIED MHDD,DISK WIPE,FDISK,OTHERS, BUT NO LUCK! WHENE EVER USED FDISK I DELETE PARTITION THEN CREATE AND FORMAT THEN WHEN I BOOT I STILL GET A WIN98 BOOT LOGO AND JUST STAYS THERE WHENE I TRY ERASE PARAMETER WITH MHDD SAY DONE BUT WHENE I BOOT SAME I GET SAME LOGO BUT GOES NO WHERE ANY HELP APRECIATE THANKS

its a firmware problem u wont be able to fix it with free tools .

thanks rameez for the reply, so do you think i should just discard it? Im still able to see all the files in it i just dont need them and wanted to use it for storage.
