Studying data recovery

Dear gurus,
I was wondering if there is some kind of diploma in data recovery.
I read a lot in the forums and understand that all the do-it-yourself hardware for 2000$ and 3-4 days courses are all commercial and not deep.
I am really interested in learning data recovery, I have a degree in electronics and computer science, MCSE, MCITP, cisco, redhat linux and checkpoint.
I have a lot of experience as an IT and also smt soldering. I learn studio sound engineering and video editing I guess it could also help. I also have security classification (secret keeper) maybe needed for forensic of investigations.
I'm sure I'll need a lot of training but is there a place to learn? does seagate offer learning data recovery?
Where did u all start getting your experience at? I'm willing to learn outside the country ofcourse.

There are alot of threads about this topic on the forums here. I started doing DR work a little over 2 years ago and really enjoy the challenge, but there are a few things you need to be aware of:

1. This is not a 'get rich quick' business. Yes you can make money doing this sort of work, but competition is out there and the learning curve is steep. Even the guys who have been doing this for many years probably learn something new every now and then.

2. Start by doing logical only recoveries, or getting a good hardware imager (DDI or Bandura) and recover drives with bad sectors/weak heads first.

3. Evaluate your tools with maintenance costs included, plus the ability to sell the units if you decide the business is not for your, or if you want to move up to better products.

4. There is NO formalized coursework in DR. Each of the major tool manufacturers do offer training and some is better than others (my guess) but they cannot cover every situation.

4. Read these forums DAILY.
