We already have 32 and 64GB chips, so using these in SSDs still only give 512GB, if going by the usual 16 chips on a PCB.
There was some mention of a speed increase, though no examples were given.
BTW, I know a way for the world to save Petabytes of storage ... CROP YOUR PICTURES! the High Res picture of this NAND Chip is 2.31MB, and cropping out all the dang white background brings it down to 334k.
