What brand of table do you use?

My table is a standard office table I got from an auction some years ago. The table is 60 inches wide so there is lots of room for several enclosures along with room for my laptop. The table has no branding on it.

I use excel extensively for data processing. Most of my storage is for games which I get lots of for free.

Excel has a lot of advanced functions for statistics. I use these a lot and my CPU with 12 threads does feel the load.

While the general health status reads Good 100%, there is a critical hardware alert hidden in the S.M.A.R.T. values down below: ID 0E (Media and Data Integrity Errors) has a raw value ending in 1. This means the drive has encountered a physical uncorrectable data block error. It is a sign of early physical degradation, not a firmware bug.

However, the 80003E00 firmware itself has documented issues, primarily concerning inefficient power distribution and thermal stability management under specific Windows power states.

The Known Firmware Vulnerability:

The older 8000x-series firmware releases for the SK Hynix PC401 are prone to:

Power-state mismatch: The SSD can fail to wake up properly or drop off the system bus during deep sleep transitions.
Thermal throttling lag: Slow power-state shifting can cause the controller to stay hotter than intended during intensive tasks.
Recommended Solution: You need to patch the storage microcode to resolve the software bugs and prevent further data correlation issues.

You should run Seatools asap on this one as well. Multiple times a day. on every drive you own. do it now.

1) Back Up Everything: Before modifying storage firmware, back up your critical documents immediately. The 0E error indicates data corruption may happen next.

2) Download the Fix: Update your drive to the final recommended version, 80007E00. If you are using a branded machine, you can source this utility through the Dell PC401 Storage Firmware Update page or your specific laptop manufacturer's driver portal.

3) Execute the Update: Close all running applications, launch the update tool as an administrator, choose the target drive, and allow the system to reboot to flash the new microcode.
