OMG! i hate being a newbie!

i am one of the rare few that WANTS to use the hpa in HDD. my questions are ..

1. is the hpa factory-installed? how do i know if its there already?

2. if i ghost my present HDD to the new HDD, will the hpa in the new HDD disappear?
