I can't tell anyone what to write but I think, soon, a reaction could backfire on this
never ending advice to every question. Somebody is going to get pizzed off, soon.

There is always a smart digger who will find or obtain commands and just publish it,
even here. I mean, it's not that difficult to get most commands needed for DR.

Who knows, maybe someone who retires from the game, or exits because an aunt
left a fortune. A loose cannon, one can never tell. zhit happens.

Well, in most cases that people are asking about I'd say you need a) the tools which are expensive b) a pro or c) such advanced knowledge that you probably wouldn't be here asking the question.

Of course even if you have a), you are still going to need some degree of c).

Ultimately most of DR and HD modification is beyond the capabilities of someone who is not long-term dedicated to it, and that's what these guys are trying to get across. If you're just a standard user, or even a computer-savvy-but-haven't-done-DR-before type, you really just need to hire a professional to get the job done.

Could I give myself surgery? Yeah, maybe, but what responsible doctor is going to help me do it?

Who, the poster or the expert ? If it is the poster, no problem. As you can see the answers are the same. If you ask me a general Q it will likely have a general answer in public, if a little more specific it will run in PM, if it is sensible (= involving proprietary know how or busine$$) NO I WON'T SHARE. Exception : if you are on my network and we share for example know how or materials or data on regular basis. In a nutshell, if you join the club.

people who have the exact knowledge about all the drives are the people who are working with the drives on a daily basis for DR and of course will never share.

And in many cases would get in trouble or get fired if they did.

Actually 70% of all questions here could be divided to 2 groups:

1) Hi guys. My drive is gone. I have no experience in data recovery. I have no necessary hardware/software. Seems to be drive is knocking. I'm familiar with technique because I'm smith (or mechanician, car driver, surgeon, electrician) I checked HDA, it looks fine. How can I recover my drive?

The answer is: GO TO PRO (or do DIY because you're genius )

2) Hi guys. The WD drive is gone. I'm data recovery expert. I have PC3K. Seems to be drive is knocking. I checked HDA, it looks fine (of course in the cleanroom ). How can I recover this drive?
