I have a hard disk that has been sitting since 1986.. I plugged it in and powered it up last month. It made the exact sounds I remember when it was brand new. All 10 megs of data seemed to be present. Spot checking the files seemed to be just fine. I ran it for a few hours doing some basic ops.

I manually parked the heads with the utility program and put it to sleep for another 30 years.
