When trying to install both the current (2.36 build 1181) and the previous version of Low Level Format on a ASUS EeePC 1000HE running XP Home SP3 I get a "Timer" window reflecting "Unknown Error" when I try to execute the installed program.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have wiped my 20Gb IBM Deskstar using HDDguru Low Level Format. Now I cannot format, partition or mount it. I am using a dell laptop, and I cannot find the XP "fdisk" DOS utility.
When I try to do a dos "format drive", it cannot see it.
What is the next step after a Low Level Format to get the drive working again???

The Asus problem sounds like incorrect cmos definition of the SATA drive:

in CMOS - usually to start with F2 or DEL at booting of computer - one has
to switch the hdd to IDE or compatible mode. On some computers switch
"native" to disabled.

Low level programs usually need the IDE mode for the HDD to be accessed.
They wont work started in Windows - one has to start them with a CD.

A simple way to check that: Start with a standard XP installation CD and
continue to the point where it should find the internal HDD. If its not found,
then you need to change the HDD switch in the CMOS configuration - as
explained above.

IBM 20GB HDD:

If a low level format in MHDD was stopped before finishing the drive is most
probably locked and will not be recognised before unlocking. There should
be explanation about that in the MHDD instructions or the forum.

Thanks!
I didn“t changed my settings. The program has already run for a few weeks. I formatted a usb-stick with the prog.
The program will start after i close the error window, the window of low level format is very short in view.
In bios i cant change options, if i change everything of ide settings, windows will not to be started.
