Both a 6E030L0 and 6E040L0 gave me problems.

The worst was the 6E030L0, I was trying to fix slow sectors on it, because I noticed it stuttering when scanning sectors.

And it failed SpinRite, gave a quiet click of death.

And the 6E040L0 was slow to init! The sectors seemed fine, but would LAG!

But then one day, I had a problem with the Kubuntu installation failing with the 6E040L0, it would crash, first, it would crash with a KDE crash report pop-up. And then when I tried again, I saw the error message "Buffer I/O error" being scrolled.

While OTOH, I can't kill my 2005 6Y060P0! Not even any green sectors!

These drives are too old for use.
If you don't want to "suck" , replace all, and problem solved. :-)

The Diamond Max 9 I have is virtually bulletproof.

And the 91366U4 I have, from 1999, still no signs of failure!
