Due to the current climate in Thailand hard drive supply problems may occur.
Just like any scarce commodity in demand it appears the unit prices are already rising.

I have seen a increase of 110% so far on 1TB HDD alone! So far only new retail hard drives I have seen affected but I am sure donor drive suppliers and ebay will soon follow...

there is not going to be a shortage of drives
they got a secret stash ;)
they got plants in other countries not just Thailand

canada the uk and the usa.


yep price of a 1tb drive has gone up a lot here

One HGST plant in Thailand is not operating because they have no parts, they have no flood in certain parts of Thailand

Even when production re starts and gets back up to speed, history has taught us that it will be some time before prices get back to what they were.... (remember the RAM shortage in the 90's)
