I just bought th WD blue 7200 rpm 6gbs 1TB
This is a replacement for my WD green 5400 rpm
I been noticing tha when im formatting with my virtual machine my computer tends to freeze
i can't read certain files it does this for a few seconds .and its also pretty loud compare to
my green hdd i thought i was getting a big upgrade but to be honest im not seen any diference at all
the only diference im seen is the noise on this one is much louder.
I thoug since i was upgrading to a 7200 rpm i was going to be able to multitask smoother
I ran chkdsk and everything came back good i also ckeck the disk with WD software and it came back good
too
now i have 30 days to return it which im thinking about doing .

Which hdd would you all recomend for multitasking smooth my budget is under 150 us and at least 1TB

This is not a pc support forum, if your computer freezes that could be a OS or hardware problem (RAM, CPU etc) not a hdd problem.
Try to read the SMART off this drive, if it comes good then most likely your problem is elsewhere.

Also, i seriously doubt the rpm of the hdd will have any effect on multitasking capabilities. Most possibly you would need to upgrade your systems RAM and CPU to have better multitasking abilities.

In order to try to confirm or deny your new WD disk as the cause of these "freezes", I suggest using read benchmark utilities, in a simplified environment (i.e. not in a virtual machine) - ideally with this disk attached temporarily as a secondary disk to another known-working PC.

As well as doing this then, as northwind said, you should collect the SMART data from the disk (ideally including the raw SMART attribute values too, as collected by HDDScan, for example), as this can sometimes show evidence of an underlying problem (although it cannot always show evidence of marginal i.e. slow-reading, areas), hence the need to use read benchmarks too.

Now i been noticeing tha some times when multitasking like video editing/formating with virtual box and
just big multitasking in general like having 15 programs open at the sametime and watching videos my computer
freezez when trying to start are open more programs/folders and when this happends this are my statastics
usualy my cpu is around 70
And memory is usuaaly round 6 gb
I check my temp with Speccy and its all normal


I think tha is my HDD tha is not able to read and write fast enought and thats why my Comp freezez when
multitasking Because everything else seems fine im thinking about upgrading to this

Yes, I read that, but for the symptoms you describe, unfortunately those test results are useless and irrelevant. Disks with certain problems will still "pass" both tests.

I teach troubleshooting and for new students, I often have to explain that just because tests pass, does not mean that no problem exists, as they often think - so you are not alone in mistakenly relying on test results in this way.

If you don't want to perform the actions which I explained, to try to help you gather information to diagnose your problem, then I will just wish you good luck and leave you to it, since you don't want / appreciate the help.
