(a) For the benefit of other readers, this is a duplication of part of the ongoing thread in the recovery forum:

(b) With respect, although it may seem an obvious thing to you, you're asking the wrong question IMHO. You don't remove write protection - you have to diagnose and then fix whatever underlying problem is causing that to be reported, since that error is a symptom of something else.

I've asked a relevant question in the above thread which you haven't yet answered, to help to eliminate a common cause of that error. I suggest that you continue with that previous thread which you started, rather than "going off at a tangent" in this new thread, OK?

sorry for posting here il keep going with the other post
it would seem the lg bluray player has set a password
MHDD reports the drive is locked to a ata password
