Can anyone help me please...?

I have a new western digital HD at 640 GB.

The model is ..... WD6400AAKS

The PC is a DELL Optiplex GX520

The old hard drive was working fine and i only changed it for a new one to the size etc.

NOW, the problem that i am having is that windows will not show its full capacity in MMS.

It shows me something that is around 136000mb

In the BIOS i can see the HD and its Full 640gb capacity.

I have used Partition Magic 6.3 to partition the HD in to three partitions and then have those partitions formated (NTFS).

Then i will insert the windows XP Pro installation disc and install the OS.

The Instalation gets to the point where it asks me where to install the OS and only shows me one partition and even that is ONLY 136000mb !

I know that the Windows XP Pro OS can take a max HD of 2 TB so i should be ok with my HD.

Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong or what i can try next to sort out the issue...??

By the way.... after installation of the OS everything works fine - apart for the size of hd showing. If i was then to use partition magic to resize etc, it does the job BUT, when i restart my PC.... it cant load and i get a blue screen.

ANY help or advice appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have the latest Windows XP Service Pack installed?
