I know nothing about (and don't use) the WD-DFL II and DFL-DE products, but I see there have been postings about them on the forum. Therefore I'm just mentioning this, in case it is of any interest to other members.

The company behind these products has just mentioned on LinkedIn that they are holding an online conference on Saturday 27th Oct (i.e. 2 days from now). The webpage mentions 2 different times (!) - 8PM GMT+8 (China time) i.e. 12 midday GMT, and 30 mins earlier i.e. 7.30PM GMT+8 i.e. 11.30AM GMT. Perhaps they have reserved the online meeting room from 11.30AM GMT, and it's going to actually start at 12:00 midday GMT?

Anyway, it's reported to be 270min duration  At a guess, they are trying to give some free publicity to their products, by showing people how to use them.

Here is a link to the web page giving details:

http://www.wiziq.com/online-class/998429-dfl-online-meeting-dr-engineers-worldwide

I won't be there, but it would be great if someone posts a review afterwards, so other members know whether it's worth attending any future presentations by them. :) Hope this info is useful.

Oops, looks like I had a bit of a dyslexic moment (I realised it too late to edit the original). I should have written "DFL-WD II" instead of "WD-DFL II" in the first post :( Sorry...

I too do not own or use any tools by this company, (well, I don't think so, but if my suspicions are right, then I may own a full suite) but out of sheer curiosity I registered on their forum - and ever since I have been bombarded with emails promoting it's features as well as on-line tutorials.

I really would like some honest feedback on this tool as I (among others) have been severely "Stung" in the distant past by purchasing Chinese products, and I really wish to avoid going through it all again...

Thanks guys....

Hi

Well, I have one DFL-WD and I attended the training.
It was a little bit hard to log in at first but I did manage to login. It was a 4 hour free training.

They were not only showing off the tool, but also giving hints and solutions about using it and how WD drives works.

This seems a completely different philosophy than SD.

These guys seems to work very well, and by what they say, next week they will release new functions to work specially with 1640 and they claim no other tool can do what they are gonna release.
Comparing with ACE I don't know, but with SD, a company with only months (maybe 1 year??) leave them light years away.

Well, in my point of view here about this DFL, it is a nice tool (1st.) and do not compare it with SD-WD, since SD is far away from this DFL
this tool is Perfect in repair (in low budget) IF AND ONLY IF you know exactly what are you doing.
otherwise it kills your drive with small stupid click.

i saw the online conference with the presenter who knows really what he is doing but had few comments on the way they presented it, but
@ the end of the day i guess it was one of the 1st. unique online conferences i had really.

This is not an Ad. for it, but i had to say its perfect for me which am using it on some options which are really useful and easy.
i guess they expected more visitors to join, but due to internet Traffic/BW some of them did not have the chance to see whats going on

wish them Good Luck really, and go on with it,

and Thank You Mr. Morgan - wish you really good luck and all the best.

Hello

I was there too, i don't have any tool from DDL, i was curious about these tools.
They explain what kind of firmware trouble it could have and how to fix it with the tool.
They made at the beginning, an introduction about Wd firmware, what is it ? What module is used for ? What are the module you need to have for DR ?

It was very interresting for me, because i am curious about data recovery, and how to handle it.

I really enjoyed that, and i ll come if they make another session.

I would thancks, Mr Gu / Mr Cham / Mr Morgan to give us this time, on them week End.
