Dear Experts,

I have a Seagate 160GB 5400.3 2.5" HDD came inside a Maxtor Maxtouch Mini.

Disk has no problem at all when we test or try to image. Directory recovery using R-studio or any software could bring all files back without any read error. But most of the files are corrupted.
I connected the disk directly to the SATA port, which also made no change on this behavior.

Majority of the pictures are corrupted even though there was no read error.

My question is

1. Has somebody gone thru this scenario before?
2. Is it because of any repair occured using third party tools, or is it because of poor health of heads?

Please help

Could be many reasons such as file level encryption or logical damage resulting from previous recovery attempts. If ID is reached, surface is accessible and no 'clicking' then I am sure heads are good.

Problem seems to be at logical level, also you cannot regen translator here.

Try to make RAW recovery and check RAW data. I suspect some RAW data will be good.

Yes.. RAW Data seems good.. But still having the same damage.
Why there is no errors while reading if it is having missing blocks...?
