Hi everybody,

I lost my password for opening a docx document.
I extract the hash with office2john then after I run it with hashcat (and rockyou.txt) but without any result (password not found).

Unfortunatly, I have a old PC and so it's very very long...

Is there anyone who can help me ?

I guess it will depend of how long the password was and of how much of it you do remember ...

If it's something like 20 or more random characters and numbers and if you can't recall any part of it it might be close to impossible to recover the password ...

If you can remember part of it it might still be possible to brute force the password but ... it will not be free and it will not be cheap ...

Search the forum (HDD Guru) for other threads about the same subject ...
