Along with wondering/worrying what happened to Spildit, I worry the hddoracle.com forum will go down sometime, maybe for good. There is a lot of reference data on there that could be lost. I myself used HTTrack to make a backup of the whole site a couple months ago, but I am not keeping it up to date as it takes way too long to do the backup.

The site is archived approximately monthly (sometimes more often) on Wayback Machine (https://web.archive.org/web/*/hddguru.com).

Try that with hddoracle.com
https://web.archive.org/web/*/hddoracle.com
Try navigating any of the archives and see how far you get...

Did you try navigating it? When I try to open any of the topics all I get is this:

You are quite right no I didn't.
I get the same error.
Wonder if the Google 'block' has anything to do with it?

No. Coincidentally I found this week that via his PayPal it's possible to see his real name, but even with that I can not dig up any info on how to reach him. Something prompted to me to try to find more info when I was reading some stuff on HHD Oracle. It occurred to me it's not impossible the site becomes inaccessible all of a sudden which would be a shame.

I do have some personal contact info but that was from years ago. I will see if anything comes back.

I have just sent what I know to a person in the same country. They might have some way to find out more info.

Unlikley.
If it was Seagate they would fail before they found him.
If it was WD they wouldn't be able to deal with the Portuguese secondary translation.
If it was Toshiba they would need to go through lots of bad area to get to him.

His host server likely upgraded mysql and his forum needs to be upgraded accordingly...same thing happened to me a while back.
