 Post subject: Gremlin in Win 10 / AMD Ryzen platforms ?

I have seen numerous cases where HDDs and SSDs suddenly become unallocated.

The common factor appears to be AMD Ryzen / Windows 10 platforms, and users often report these issues after a motherboard swap. Even after repairing the damage to sector 0, the same problem recurs randomly in subsequent boots.

I suspect that the problem may be related to AMD's SATA driver, but I'm not certain.

The damage to sector 0 often results in the data pattern in the attached screenshot. The partition table is also cleared.

In one case I saw a remnant of NTFS metadata (part of the $LogFile, IIRC).

Are people seeing this kind of damage in their shops?
