Title: Assistant Data Recovery Technician

Job Description:

The Assistant Data Recovery Technician will assist the Data Recovery Engineering group with receiving and shipping of customer equipment and media, replications of media, and production tasks as well as other areas as needed. Properly use and understand software, hardware tools and systems as needed to diagnose customer hardware, and replicate media. This cross-functional position will provide assistance, or take full responsibility, for work being performed in any aspect of operations.

Responsibilities:

* Diagnosing / Imaging various types of customer Media
* Maintain communication and status updates for recovery process
* Perform quality assurance on all deliverables
* Backing up of Customer Data to requested media
* Exchange / procure parts for failed customer devices
* May require this individual to be on-call which may require 24/7 availability as needed
* Long hours and shift work maybe required to meet the deadlines of projects

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent, College degree recommended
* Experience in data recovery is a plus
* Ability to cope with pressure related to time-sensitive tasks
* Working knowledge of personal computer internal components
* Backup software and email system experience desired
* Experience with assembling and disassembling computer hardware required
* Read and write technical documents and project summary information
* Ability to view documents, logs and reports online
* Walk and stand for several hours at a time
* Ability to lift and handle 30-pound freight packages
