Programming ROM adapter question

August 6th, 2008, 13:43

Hello,

I just purchased a programmer for the purpose of flashing and testing ROM and possible NV-RAM chips. As I am new to using programmers I am a little confused as to what for a adapter I need. In particular I am interested in the adapter for 8 pin ROM chips. Can anyone explain to me which adapter I need and or recommend a good website with information to understand DIP, TSOP, etc...

P.S. I think that what I need is called a SOIC8 (with socket) to DIP8 Adapter, but I am not completely sure.

P.S. The programmer that I am using is a Wellon.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I am accessing the IDE HDD by programming on PIC32.
Can you share your experience or program on it?
